Overall condition near mint showing virtually no wear or use. .69 caliber smoothbore round barrel exhibiting cartouche with A. G. 1815 at breech. Bayonet lug on the underside of the barrel. Round faced lock, with reinforced cock, bearing hand engraved markings of Tulle Arsenal. Brass side plate, brass lower barrel band. Double width iron middle band with sling swivel attached at front. Trigger guard with brass bow and front extension with sling swivel, rear extension of iron with finger grooves. Circular cartouche on right side of butt stock also with arsenal markings and 1815 date. Dished out cheek piece on left side of butt stock, as originally configured. Metal overall about mint with just some areas of gray patina. Stock also near perfect with just some minor dents apparently from handling/storage. Original brass tipped iron ramrod. An exceptional example of this very scarce French musket.
Two Buff Leather Frogs for the Infantry "Briquet" Saber:
First model, worn by the 1st Imperial Guard or by the Garde Nationale, in white stitched buff leather. Several ink stamps on inner side. Length 144 cm. Width 5.5 cm. Good condition, repair where scabbard locket is inserted. Second model, worn by the line infantry after the end of the Ancien Régime. Made from natural buff leather. Length 120 cm. Width 6 cm. Good overall condition.
